High School Experience Day
Tuesday 13 June, 2023
8:30am – 2:30pm
Investigator College invites all current Year 6 Students from across the Fleurieu Peninsula to join us for a free, fun-filled first experience of High School at our Victor Harbor Campus!

Year 6 Experience Day
Join us for High School Experience Day at Investigator College!
Experience Day is open to students currently in Year 6 at nearby Primary Schools across the Fleurieu Peninsula, and provides a fun and engaging first experience of high school life.
What is High School Experience Day?
From adventures in Agriculture to exploring Design and Technology challenges in our Wood Workshop, High School Experience Day is all about fun and adventure for soon-to-be high schoolers.
It provides an opportunity for students to have their first real experience of high school and to spend a day having fun, making new friends and reducing any anxiety they may have about beginning Secondary School.
The aim is for students to have an amazing day, and leave feeling excited, positive and enthusiastic about their next stage of their learning journey. Best of all, High School Experience Day is completely free and open to all current Year 6 students!
Benefits For Students
High School Experience Day will feature a special program of fun and engaging actvities which:
- Encourage students to meet, engage and build relationships with their potential future classmates;
- Excite students about all of the new experience, facilities and opportunities to learn that Secondary Schol will bring
- Allow students to explore our rich learning environments not usually found in Primary Schools, including our Agriculture Area, Science Laboratories, Wood Technology Workshop, Visual Art Studios and Food Technology Kitchens.
How Does Experience Day Work?
Instead of attending their regular Primary School, students participating in an Experience Day attend Investigator College for the day.
Taking place on a student-free day for Investigator College students, our Year 6 visitors will have full use of our extensive campus, with opportunities to play, make, create and learn as they participate in a specially-tailored program of engaging activities.
100% Free
High School Experience Day is 100% free for all students!
All that we ask is that students interested in attending complete the registration form, and that each student arrives with a packed morning tea and lunch
Activity Schedule
To begin the day Parents/Caregivers will need to drop students at Investigator College, and check-in for the day in the gym area of our Perfoming Arts and Sports Centre (PASC) between 8:30am and 9:00am.
Over the course of our morning session (9:00am – 12:00pm), students will rotate through three engaging activities in Woodwork, Food Technology and Physical Education (PE).
During our afternoon session (1:00pm – 2:00pm), students will have an opportunity to choose from a number of electives, including Robotics, Music, Science and Visual Art.
Throughout the day, students will have both a morning tea and lunch break (please ensure your child has packed food for break times).
Parents/Caregivers will return to collect students at 2:00pm, with a short recap of the day taking place with both students and parents in the Theatre area of our PASC between 2:00pm and 2:30pm.
We look forward to welcoming both students and parents to Investigator College for Year 6 Experience Day, 2023!
